THE GREEN HOUSE PROJECT....

Yesterday in the blog I mentioned that we will be opening our greenhouse again. About 5 years ago were donated a wonderful big greenhouse of 10.000 square feet. But because of a lack of funds we ere never able to get it of the ground.
Last November we started talking to some people in Holambra we really wanted to help Lar Feliz get this project started. To make a long story short; hopefully by the middle of February we will have the greenhouse fixed and will start the production of native trees. There are a few business men that together with the rotary club of Holambra are helping us to get it all started.
Every week we will receive 4600 starters of trees that we will have to replant in a milk box. Then after a period of 6 months we will sell them back to the company who donated them in the first place.
We will have two adults working in the green house and all the kids will work there several hours per week as a therapy. This way we are hoping to prepare them better for the society by showing them that in order to accomplish something you have to work for it. It is wonderful that Lar Feliz will be able to teach the teens with this project about not just making money, but also taking care of the world we are living in by using used milk boxes as plant pots, and planting trees in aras where they are cut down.
The picture shows a little bit how it will take place!!

Back to work!!

After being "Of the air" for a while, here we are again. Jill and the kids are still in Ohio and will be traveling back to Brazil this coming Thursday. I got back last Wednesday and it was so nice to see all the kids and staff again. Apart from some minor problems, everything is relatively calm at Lar Feliz. The babies and toddlers asked me if Jill is still in the plane. The must believe that Jill has been in the plane every since she left on December 14th. We are going full speed ahead we the preparations of opening the Green House again. A place where we will be taking care of starters of native trees. What an answer to prayer. We are also in the process of opening a transitional home for youth from 18 to 21 year old. 2010 is going to be a year with many new challenges. Pray with us for His plans to be done during this year!!
